The Rethinking Research Collaborative (RRC) was an international network of networks including research organisations, civil society organisations, social movements, international NGOs and research brokers, training providers and funders who were committed to working together to explore the politics of participation in knowledge for international development and to encourage more inclusive and responsive collaboration in order to produce more relevant research.

The second of the four ‘core seminars’ focused on designing research in partnerships. We started the day by revisiting understandings of evidence from the previous seminar and reconnecting with the different partnerships. We then presented and analysed the second and third partnership case study, exploring issues specific to the cases and then using them as a springboard for wider discussions shaped by other partnership experiences and our analytical framework. We finished the day by discussing the implications for the rest of the series.
